Vowels and Diacritics

In this section, we'll cover short vowels and other diacritics in Arabic.

There are a few main types:

1. Short vowels: a, i, and u
2. Tanween: an, een, and oon
3. Shaddha: a doubled or emphasized letter (also called gemination)
4. Sukoon: a mark showing there is no vowel, or a brief silence
